Police have arrested two suspects in connection with a purse snatching Thursday night in Mays Landing.

Investigators said 32-year-old Misty Riddle, of Newfield, approached a woman shortly after 8:30 p.m. near the Jo-Ann Fabric store in the Festival at Hamilton Shopping Center.

Riddle allegedly grabbed the woman's purse from her shoulder. After struggling briefly with the victim, she took the purse and fled in a vehicle driven by 36-year-old Joshua McFarland, also of Newfield, police said.

The duo was arrested after a witness followed the car and contacted police, according to investigators. Police said they were able to recover the victim's property.

Riddle has been charged with robbery and conspiracy to commit robbery and is being held at the Atlantic County Jail on $50,000 bail. McFarland, who had an unrelated warrant for burglary and theft, was also jailed on $50,000 bail, police said.
