Prosecutors' group offers scholarships

TRENTON The County Prosecutors Association of New Jersey is accepting applications for one-year scholarships to support students attending law school or other college and graduate programs.

TRENTON The County Prosecutors Association of New Jersey is accepting applications for one-year scholarships to support students attending law school or other college and graduate programs.

The nonprofit organization is offering four one-year grants of $3,500. All four scholarships require applicants to demonstrate New Jersey residency and financial need.

The association's John H. Stamler Memorial Scholarship is restricted to law enforcement officers who are attending college or graduate school to improve their effectiveness.

Law-school students who have an interest in pursuing a career as a prosecutor with a focus on domestic violence or hate crimes are eligible for the Harris Y. Cotton Memorial Scholarship.

Law or graduate students with a focus on children's rights, well-being, and advocacy may apply for the Andrew K. Ruotolo Jr. Memorial Scholarship.

Law students with a general interest in a career as a prosecutor may apply for the Oscar W. Rittenhouse Memorial Scholarship.

Applications will be accepted through July 15, and the association will announce its decisions in October. Applications are available at cpanj.info.
