Five people have been arrested in connection with the armed robbery of Caesars Atlantic City Hotel & Casino last week, state police announced Wednesday.

Izyiah Plummer, 19, and Lance Rogers, 20, both of Atlantic City, along with Dwayne Morgan, 20, Monique Kelly, 19, and Aaron Evans, 23, all of Pleasantville, face charges ranging from robbery and aggravated assault to weapons offenses and receiving stolen property.

Authorities said Plummer previously worked as a security guard at Caesars but could not confirm whether he was employed there at the time of the heist, which occurred shortly before 6:30 a.m. July 21.

Two men wearing masks and gloves brandished a gun and robbed security personnel of cash boxes containing more than $180,000 from inside the casino before fleeing in a dark-colored sedan, police said.

Investigators said the arrests occurred last Wednesday and Thursday, after detectives following up on leads executed search warrants at homes in Atlantic City and Pleasantville.

The searches turned up a large portion of the money stolen from the casino and some articles of clothing the suspects are believed to have worn during the crime, according to police.

Additional details about the circumstances surrounding the arrests and charges were not being released Wednesday because the investigation remained ongoing, police said.

Casino Gaming Bureau detectives continue to work with local agencies in a bid to identify additional suspects and recover more evidence. Anyone with information is asked to contact the New Jersey State Police Casino Gaming Bureau at 609-441-7464.
