Driver killed in NJ racetrack crash

A driver was killed Saturday afternoon after crashing during a race clinic at the Wall Stadium Speedway, New Jersey State Police announced.

A driver was killed Saturday afternoon after crashing during a race clinic at the Wall Stadium Speedway, New Jersey State Police announced.

Investigators said a quarter-midget car struck a wall of the racecourse around 12:30 p.m., killing an unidentified 21-year-old woman who was behind the wheel.

No additional injuries were reported in the crash. Police said more information would be provided pending a full investigation.

The speedway, off Route 34 in Wall Township, Monmouth County, was slated to host a beach luau-themed event Saturday evening featuring seven races, according to its website.
