Crash shuts down Admiral Wilson Boulevard

A serious car crash in Camden County shut down Admiral Wilson Boulevard in both directions Friday evening.

Police said a multiple-vehicle accident resulted in at least one car hitting a utility pole, knocking down wires. All lanes of the busy highway, near the Benjamin Franklin Bridge, remained closed to traffic at 7 p.m.

Officials were advising drivers to avoid the area and seek alternate routes Friday night. It wasn't immediately clear when the road would reopen.
