Cops: Man carrying child stole donations from South Jersey water park

Police are looking for a man who carried a young child in his arms as he stole a donation box from a South Jersey water park earlier this month.

The theft occurred around 6:45 p.m. Feb. 13 at Sahara Sam's Oasis in West Berlin, N.J., according to investigators. Surveillance video shows the suspect holding the child while swiping the donation box from an unattended kiosk, police said.

The box contained funds for a nonprofit organization that provides care to special-needs children. Authorities did not disclose the exact dollar amount.

The suspect is described as a white male, last seen wearing a dark jacket, gray sweatpants and dark sneakers. Anyone with information is asked to contact the Berlin Township Police Department at 856-783-4900 or 856-767-5878, ext. 235.
