Camden police seek suspects in two stickups

Police are investigating two armed robberies that occurred in East Camden early Friday and may have been committed by the same suspects, investigators said.

Police are investigating two armed robberies that occurred in East Camden early Friday and may have been committed by the same suspects, investigators said.

The first incident happened around 4:45 a.m., when two men dressed in all-black clothing got out of a black, BMW-type sedan and approached the victim near 23rd and High streets, police said.

One of the men allegedly brandished a handgun. The suspects stole the victim's cash, debit card and backpack before getting back into the car and fleeing the area, according to investigators.

About 15 minutes later, a second victim, who was near the corner of Dudley Street and Westfield Avenue, walked by a vehicle with the engine running and no lights on, police said.

A man armed with a silver handgun then walked up and took the victim's wallet and cell phone before fleeing the area, police said.

The suspect in the second robbery is described as a 5-foot-4 inch tall black male who was last seen wearing an orange baseball cap.

Anyone with information on the suspects or crimes is asked to call the Camden County Police Department tip line at 856-757-7042.
