Camden hit-and-run victim identified

Authorities have identified the man killed in a Memorial Day hit-and-run crash in Camden.

Lawrence Stark, 58, died after he was struck on the 1500 block of Pershing Street around 7 p.m. Monday, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said this morning.

The Clementon resident was walking when he was hit by a four-door SUV or truck. Witnesses told police that the vehicle stopped briefly, then drove away.

Prosecutors described the vehicle as dark blue or black, and having tape on the driver-side mirror. There may be damage to the passenger side of the vehicle.

The driver was described as a Hispanic man in his 20s or 30s, with a tight hair cut and a light goatee.
