Audubon man slain, suspect in custody

Steven Johnston, of Audubon, was shot and killed inside an apartment on the South White Horse Pike, and police have arrested a suspect in connection with his death, Camden County prosecutors announced.

Police have arrested a suspect in the shooting death of an Audubon man early Saturday.

Officers found the victim, 51-year-old Steven Johnston, shortly before 3 a.m. inside an upstairs apartment on the 400 block of the South White Horse Pike, according to a news release from the Camden County Prosecutor's Office.

Johnston was pronounced dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

A suspect, described only as an adult male, was immediately taken into custody at the scene, according to authorities.

He was still being questioned Saturday morning, and charges against him were pending.
