New Jersey rocker Jon Bon Jovi returned to Camden this week, accompanied by a film crew that spent days capturing scenes of the city.

The Sayreville native, who spent a few hours filming a music video in Camden High School last month, is involved with making a documentary about Camden, according to several people close to the project. He is also shooting footage for two music videos in Camden.

Representatives of Dreambear, a New York-based music and video production company that is involved with shooting the music videos, declined to comment on specifics of the project but said the videos would be released next month.

The small film crew filmed around North Camden and East Camden, and then shot a group of North Camden Little League players during a scrimmage Thursday at the Rutgers-Camden softball field.

Felisha Reyes-Morton, president of the nonprofit league, said she was excited about the possibility that the players might be featured in the documentary or the videos.

"It's a great opportunity for the kids to be showcased," she said. "They work so hard, and this is a prize we can offer them as a reward for their commitment to the league."

Bon Jovi, who posed for photos with Mayor Dana L. Redd and students when he visited last month, has other ties to Camden: He received an honorary degree last year from Rutgers-Camden in part due to his philanthropic efforts to combat poverty and homelessness in the area. He also has made donations to Joseph's House, a Camden shelter.

Bon Jovi also performed in Philadelphia on Monday as part of a star-studded rally for now-defeated Democratic presidential candidate Hillary Clinton on Independence Mall.
