First Industrial Realty Trust of Chicago has acquired a 33-acre parcel in Florence Township, N.J., with plans to build a 577,200-square-foot distribution center on the site, according to NAI Mertz, which brokered the transaction.

First Industrial, which anticipates completion of the building during late 2016, purchased the land at 400 Cedar Lane from Dallas-based Covington Group, NAI Mertz said in an email. The buyer declined to disclose a purchase price.

The land is directly across the street from the site of a planned 600,000-square-foot fulfillment center recently announced by Amazon Inc., NAI Mertz said.
