Man charged in fatal shooting in Camden

A Camden man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting Tuesday in the city's Morgan Village neighborhood, authorities said.

A Camden man has been charged in connection with a fatal shooting Tuesday in the city's Morgan Village neighborhood, authorities said.

Allen Reed, 41, was charged with murder for allegedly shooting Edwin Davis, 43, of Camden, around 7:20 a.m. in the 2500 block of Morgan Boulevard, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said.

Police found Davis lying on the ground. He was pronounced dead at the scene at 7:32 a.m., authorities said. Reed was taken to the Camden County Jail on $1.5 million bail. He is to be arraigned at 1:30 p.m. Friday in Superior Court in Camden.

Davis was the 13th person killed in Camden this year. The city had nine homicides at this point last year.
