8 held on drug charges in Clayton

Eight people were arrested earlier this month, the culmination of a two-month drug investigation by the Clayton Police Department and Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office, officials announced Wednesday.

Eight people were arrested earlier this month, the culmination of a two-month drug investigation by the Clayton Police Department and Gloucester County Prosecutor's Office, officials announced Wednesday.

In a news release, Clayton police said that on April 22 detectives - with the assistance of Gloucester County SWAT - executed search warrants at two homes, one on North Delsea Drive, and the other on East Center Street.

In addition to arresting the eight people ages 18 to 50, police confiscated undisclosed amounts of cash, paraphernalia, and drugs, including marijuana, heroin, and Molly/MDMA, which is a form of Ecstasy. Five of those arrested were charged with drug offenses. The other three were arrested on outstanding warrants.
