A 39-year-old male pedestrian who suffered serious injuries after being hit by a vehicle in Burlington County on Friday night was listed Saturday in stable condition, police said.

The man was struck about 8:30 p.m. on the Mount Holly Bypass near Marne Highway in Hainesport and flown by helicopter to the Capital Health Regional Medical Center in Trenton, a State Police spokesman, Sgt. Jeff Flynn, said.

Flynn said the driver of the vehicle, Timothy Ninerell, 27, of Hainesport, stopped at the scene, but was charged on suspicion that he was driving while intoxicated. Ninerell, who was released, could face additional charges after an investigation, Flynn said.

The victim, Lawrence Godwin Jr., of Browns Mills, also in Burlington County, was in stable condition Saturday at the hospital, Flynn said.
