$2.3M more in Bridgegate bills released

A computer forensics firm retained on behalf of Gov. Christie's office after the George Washington Bridge lane closure scandal has billed the state $2.3 million, according to invoices released Friday evening.

A computer forensics firm retained on behalf of Gov. Christie's office after the George Washington Bridge lane closure scandal has billed the state $2.3 million, according to invoices released Friday evening.

The invoices from Stroz Friedberg, which date to January 2014 and go through the end of 2015, were released by the attorney general's office. The invoices don't describe the work performed by the firm, but list expenses for items such as forensic hard drives.

The costs are separate from the $8 million billed to taxpayers as of last year by Gibson, Dunn & Crutcher, the law firm retained by the governor's office to conduct an internal investigation and respond to subpoenas after the bridge scandal in January 2014.

The incident has resulted in federal charges against a former Christie deputy chief of staff and two former officials at the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey.

A spokesman for the attorney general said Gibson Dunn retained and supervised Stroz Friedberg on behalf of the governor's office.
