Man arrested in South Jersey bank heists

Authorities say they've apprehended the man responsible for two recent bank robberies and one attempted heist in South Jersey. In Camden County, 38-year-old Anthony Melton, of Deptford, is accused of robbing a Beneficial Bank branch in Gloucester Township on Nov. 7, officials said.

In Camden County, 38-year-old Anthony Melton, of Deptford, is accused of robbing a Beneficial Bank branch in Gloucester Township on Nov. 7, officials said.

He is also facing charges for two Gloucester County incidents: Melton allegedly held up a Fulton Bank in Deptford and tried to rob a Bank of American branch in Monroe, both on Oct. 23.

He surrendered Monday to the Gloucester County Sheriff's Department, the Camden County Prosecutor's Office said.
