SOUTHAMPTON A prayer vigil will be held Friday in Southampton Township for the family that lost two siblings when a car struck them on Aug. 18.

Jyonshiel Martinez, 2, and his sister Jairisa Galindo, 18, were killed in the accident along Buddtown Road, where the family lives. Galindo was pulling Jyonshiel in a red wagon when they and two other family members were hit by a BMW sedan.

The vigil will be at 8 p.m. Friday at the playground of the Southampton Municipal Complex at 5 Retreat Rd., the township said.

A car wash and bake sale will also be held at the complex on Saturday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m. to raise money for the family.

Also injured in the accident were their brother, Kahariel Martinez, 6, and their cousin John Giles, 8. They were reported in critical condition after the accident. Cooper University Hospital officials said Tuesday they could not release updated information without the family's permission. The family could not be reached.

The driver in the crash was not charged. State police found no evidence of speeding or intoxication.
