Darrell Crone, 33, was found guilty Tuesday of aggravated manslaughter in the shooting death of 27-year-old Timothy Loper Jr., a former Marine who served in Afghanistan.

Crone, who was also convicted of attempted murder for firing into a crowd of people, shot Loper early in the morning of Dec. 1, 2013, after the two men got into a fight outside a tavern in Camden.

Crone faces up to 70 years in state prison and would not be eligible for parole until 85 percent of his term has been served. He faces extended-term sentencing on some counts under the Graves Act because he was previously convicted of committing an armed robbery and while on parole for that offense was convicted of possessing a firearm.

Sentencing is scheduled on June 18. - Melissa Dribben
