Cops: Receptionist stole $129K in co-pays

A receptionist at a Burlington County dermatology office has been arrested on charges of stealing more than $129,000 in patient co-pays, police said Friday.

A receptionist at a Burlington County dermatology office has been arrested on charges of stealing more than $129,000 in patient co-pays, police said Friday.

Evesham Township police said 56-year-old Joyce Russo pocketed co-pays from patients as they checked in for appointments at Aesthetic Dermatology, 771 Route 70 East in Marlton.

Russo, a receptionist at the office, is accused of stealing $129,018 over a two-year period, police said.

Police also allege that Russo, of Browns Mills, submitted fraudulent time-card sheets, through which she obtained $10,396 in overpaid wages.

Russo, who was arrested Thursday, faces charges that include theft and theft by deception.
