WILDWOOD Who said the dog days of summer were over? Not yet.

Morey's Pier will go to the dogs Sunday and end with a splash when more than 160 canines take over the Raging Waters Water Park on Morey's Mariner's Pier, at Schellenger Avenue and the boardwalk in Wildwood.

The "dogs only" event will be from 5 to 7 p.m. The water park will close for the season to the general public at 5 and then reopen for the dog event.

There will be free doggie treats and water bowls stationed around the park. Dogs will be free to paddle around the river adventure, a lazy river with waterfalls, or play in the fountain pool while surrounded by bubbles and geysers.

The highlight of the event will be a doggie swimsuit competition, which begins at 6:15.

Admission is $10 per dog and $10 per owner. All proceeds benefit the New Jersey SPCA and the Wildwood Dog Beach.
