A Pemberton Township man was charged Monday with murdering his mother. Police received a call from Herbert Rowlette, 44, on Sunday in which Rowlette indicated that his mother had been killed in their shared home in the township's Browns Mills section.

Police received a call from Herbert Rowlette, 44, on Sunday in which Rowlette indicated that his mother had been killed in their shared home in the township's Browns Mills section.
Police found the body of Maryanne Rowlette, 71, on the living room floor when they arrived. An autopsy has been scheduled to determine the cause of death.
A hearing scheduled Monday for Rowlette's first court appearance was postponed. He did not post $500,000 bail and was being held in Burlington County Jail. - Clark Mindock
