Cherry Hill man charged in sex assault

A Cherry Hill man has been charged with sexually assaulting an underage girl, township police said Thursday.

Daniel J. Knox, 21, of Third Avenue, was arrested Sunday and charged with sexual assault and endangering the welfare of a minor, Cherry Hill police said.

That day, police responded to a report about a possible sexual assault. Investigators determined that a 14-year-old girl had been communicating online with a man, allegedly Knox. That online relationship resulted in the two meeting and having sex, police said.

Knox did not post $100,000 bail and was sent to the Camden County Jail. Police would not comment on the origin of the complaint. - Rita Giordano
