Baby giraffe to make debut in Cape May
The female calf was born Sept. 2 and will make her formal debut to the public on Wednesday, the zoo announced in a statement.
In the meantime, she is being introduced to outdoor areas and her herd and is getting limited time in the public viewing area.
The calf, whose name hasn't been announced, is the first giraffe born at the zoo in 12 years. She joins a zoo herd of three females and one male.
The giraffe weighed about 150 pounds at birth and is about six feet tall.
