Christie to detail drug offender treatment plan today

Gov. Christie is scheduled to visit The Rescue Mission of Trenton Thursday morning where he will detail his plans to mandate drug treatment for non-violent offenders with addiction.

Christie said in his budget address last week that he would spend $2.5 million in state funds to help divert more people with substance abuse problems to rehabilitation, instead of sending them to prison.
