A New Jersey bank executive was killed Friday night in a freak accident on the Rancocas Country Club Golf Course in Burlington County, police disclosed yesterday.

Frank Papotto, a senior vice president at TD Bank, formerly Commerce Bank, was injured when he fell from a moving golf cart about 6 p.m.

Willingboro Township police Lt. Joseph Dey said Papotto, 46, of Moorestown, was a passenger in the cart.

He was airlifted to Cooper University Hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.

Dey declined to disclose further details, but said the case remained under investigation.

The Burlington County Medical Examiner's Office has determined that Papotto died of head trauma, and ruled it an accident.

Papotto's wife said yesterday that she was too distraught to discuss the incident.

Rancocas, a public golf course, was designed by noted course architect Robert Trent Jones Sr. and opened in 1966. It is popular among Philadelphia-area residents.
