NEW YORK

- Shakira is partnering with Fisher-Price to launch a line of baby toys as well as a Web series for moms.

The Mattel, Inc.-owned company announced yesterday that the First Steps collection of toys and baby gear would be available in November. Shakira co-developed six products, including a bouncer that plays music, alphabet blocks and a musical soccer ball, an ode to her soccer-playing boyfriend Gerard Pique, who plays for FC Barcelona.

All of the proceeds will benefit her Barefoot Foundation, which provides education and nutrition to children in impoverished areas of her native Colombia.

Geoff Walker, executive vice president of the Fisher-Price Global Brands Team, said in an interview Thursday that Shakira contacted the company about collaborating. The Grammy-winning singer, who is pregnant and is the mother of 21-month-old Milan, is the first celebrity Fisher-Price has partnered with.

Bye-bye, Boo Boo

NEW YORK - The TLC network yesterday canceled its colorful series about child beauty pageant contestant Honey Boo Boo and her Georgia family.

The network had already completed filming of another season of "Here Comes Honey Boo Boo" and was set to begin airing it at the end of this year.

TLC wouldn't publicly cite a reason for the cancellation, but said in a statement that "supporting the health and welfare of these remarkable children is our only priority. TLC is faithfully committed to the childrens' ongoing comfort and well-being."

The cancellation came after published reports that June Shannon, Honey Boo Boo's mom, was dating a man with an icky past.

Shannon posted what she called a "truth video" on the Alana Thompson (Honey Boo Boo) fan page yesterday morning denying the allegations. In the video, Shannon said she learned from TLC yesterday that the show would no longer be produced, adding that TLC had told her to be "hush-hush" about the situation.

"The statement of me dating a sex offender is totally untrue. Pumpkin [the nickname for the man she is reported to have dated] has openly said that I did not date him," Shannon said in the nearly three-minute video which had more than 5,800 "likes" and more than 1,100 "shares" from the page's 1.1 million fans within two hours after it was posted.

Caesars says that starting at 8 a.m., the first 100 people who prove that they, too, are named Britney will get two tickets to Spears' "Piece of Me" show at Planet Hollywood Resort & Casino and a ride aboard the High Roller observation wheel.

Clark County has handed out 10 "keys" to the Strip so far.

NBC interns will get paid in wage-war suit

NEW YORK - NBCUniversal will pay $6.4 million to settle a class-action lawsuit brought by unpaid interns who worked on "Saturday Night Live" and other shows who claim they are owed wages, according to court documents.

The interns claim NBCUniversal wrongly classified them as nonemployees in an effort to avoid labor laws. NBCUniversal said in court documents that even though it is settling the suit, it denies the allegations and admits no wrongdoing.

The average amount that class-action members of the suit will receive is $505, although the main plaintiffs will receive more. The number of class members is capped at 8,975.

The interns had been seeking recovery of unpaid wages, legal fees, interest and liquidated damages. The settlement still has to be approved by a judge. The lawsuit was filed in federal court in New York.

Allentown to pass on Reed because of feed?

ALLENTOWN - Going out of bounds on Facebook could block NFL Hall of Famer Andre Reed from getting his name on his old high school field.

The Allentown school board Thursday delayed a vote on naming the field at J. Birney Crum Stadium in Reed's honor.

They're concerned he sent a profanity-laced message to an alum who criticized the plan.

The longtime Buffalo Bills receiver had planned to visit schools, tailgate with fans and celebrate the renaming of an Allentown park and part of a street in his name.
