A motorcyclist was killed Sunday afternoon after running a red light on Lindbergh Boulevard, the Philadelphia Police Department reported.
The 40-year-old man was speeding when he ran the light at 63rd Street while heading west on Lindbergh about 3:45 p.m., police said. He was hit by a cab traveling south on 63rd Street. Police on Sunday night were not able to estimate how fast the motorcyclist was traveling.
The motorcyclist, Erick McBean of the 6000 block of Doel Street, was pronounced dead at 4:11 p.m. at Presbyterian Hospital.
The 63-year-old cab driver was held at the scene but not arrested.
