Man shot in neck in West Philly

An unidentified man was hospitalized in stable condition after being shot in the neck Friday night in West Philadelphia, police said.

About 8:15 p.m. in the 5100 block of Ranstead Street, the man, described as about 30 years old, also suffered a graze wound to the right side of his head, police said. He was taken by private vehicle to Mercy Philadelphia Hospital and then transferred by police to Penn Presbyterian Medical Center.

No arrests were reported.
