Roxborough crash leaves pedestrian critical
A man walking on the 6700 block of Henry Avenue in Roxborough was hit by a car and suffered critical injuries.
A pedestrian was in critical condition after he was hit by a car in Roxborough early Sunday.
The victim, 25, was struck around 3:20 a.m. while walking in the bike lane along the 6700 block of Henry Avenue, where there is no sidewalk, police said.
The driver told investigators she swerved into the bike lane to avoid hitting another vehicle that tried to get in front of her. She stayed on the scene and waited for medics to arrive, police said.
The victim was rushed to Temple University Hospital with a serious head injury, broken right femur, and internal bleeding. His identity was not released.
Police didn't suspect drugs or alcohol to be a factor in the crash, and no charges were expected to be filed, as of Sunday. An investigation remained ongoing with the Philadelphia police Accident Investigation Division.
