Police in Egg Harbor Township are trying to identify the owners of a diverse inventory of property suspected to have been stolen from several South Jersey neighborhoods.

A recent theft investigation led detectives to a local pawnshop, where they found a 13-gallon Campbell Hausfeld air compressor believed to have been taken from the bed of a pickup truck parked off Black Horse Pike in the Cardiff section of the township, police said.

Also discovered during the investigation was a Beatles memorabilia collection containing a John Lennon doll, two concrete lions believed to have been stolen from properties in Atlantic City, and lawn tools allegedly removed from sheds in the Timber Glen section of Mays Landing.

Investigators believe the same suspect to be responsible for all of the thefts, but he has not yet been charged and his identity has not been released, said Lt. Robert Gray of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department.

Police are hoping the stolen items will lead them to additional victims and shed more light on the ongoing investigation, Gray said.

Anyone with information about the items' owners is asked to contact Detective Shawn Owen of the Egg Harbor Township Police Department Criminal Investigative Bureau at 609-926-4051.
