Francisco Lopez, 37, a Mexican national formerly residing in Tuscon, Ariz., was accused of leading an international drug trafficking ring which brought thousands of kilograms of marijuana from Mexico, the U.S Attorney's Office in Philadelphia said Friday. Lopez was found guilty in May.

According to the U.S. Attorney's office, Lopez's ring had been in business since January 2010 and brought drugs from Mexico in tractor trailers or through Federal Express Freight to customers in the Philadelphia and New York City areas.

Lopez's ring was grossing close to $4 million a month in drug sales, the feds said, and the cash was returned to Mexico via cars, tractor trailers, and bank deposits.
