You won't find Judge Lois Murphy in her chambers or in her courtroom between 11 a.m. and noon Wednesday. That's because she'll be at the base of the courthouse staircase, singing.
NORRISTOWN - You won't find Judge Lois Murphy in her chambers or in her courtroom between 11 a.m. and noon Wednesday. That's because she'll be at the base of the courthouse staircase, singing.
Murphy, an alto, and the 22 other members of the county Employee Chorus will perform at the annual holiday concert. The tradition dates to 1980.
Members of the chorus have been practicing in Murphy's chambers during one lunch hour every week, according to county spokesman Frank Custer.
The chorus, which also includes Judge Garrett Page and is led by Drew Albert, will perform such standards as "O Come All Ye Faithful" and "I Heard the Bells on Christmas Day," along with "Child of Kwanzaa," and will include selections from Handel to John Lennon and Yoko Ono.
The concert, which starts at 11 a.m., will last about an hour, and is free and open to the public. - Staff report
