Man shot at Crescentville gas station is identified

Police on Monday identified a man who was fatally shot Saturday in the city's Crescentville section by another man who may have believed he was in danger.

Malcolm King, 43, of the 5200 block of Burton Street in Frankford, was waiting for a friend at the Sunoco station at 780 Adams Ave. shortly after 5 a.m. when a car pulled up and King opened the passenger door, police said.

The driver told police he believed he was being robbed and shot King. The driver remained at the scene for police, who are still investigating. - Robert Moran
