ROEBLING The Roebling Museum will celebrate its second annual Oktoberfest on Saturday, Sept. 26, with music, local craft beer, and German food, a theme evoking the German origins of the pioneering 19th-century engineer and bridge builder whose name the museum bears, John A. Roebling.

There will be a beer garden on the museum's grounds and music from the South Jersey Pops Oktoberfest band and accordionist Dave Burr. Food vendors will serve various treats at the festival, which will run from 2 to 7 p.m.

For young attendees, there will be a bounce house and a free craft workshop.

Admission is $8 in advance and $10 at the gate. The price for children ages 6 to 12 is $3 in advance and $5 at gate. Children under 6 are free. Tickets can be obtained on the museum's website, roeblingmuseum.org.

Entrance to the museum is included in admission.

The event is a fund-raiser for the museum and its youth programs. The museum is an industrial-history museum focusing on the engineering innovations of Roebling, designer of the Brooklyn Bridge; the wire-rope industry he founded; and the history of the former company town of Roebling.

The museum is at 100 Second Ave. in Roebling. Because of the papal visit to Philadelphia, the River Line will not stop in Roebling on Sept. 26. NJ Transit buses will run along the River Line route and stop in Roebling.

For more information, contact Judy Lieberman or Robin Lovenduski at the museum at 609-499-7200.
