4 men arrested in murder of Chesco boy, 17

Police arrested four men Friday who they say set up a fake drug deal with a 17-year-old boy, robbed him, fatally shot him in the chest, and left him on the side of a deserted road in Chester County on Thursday.

Police arrested four men Friday who they say set up a fake drug deal with a 17-year-old boy, robbed him, fatally shot him in the chest, and left him on the side of a deserted road in Chester County on Thursday.

Three of the men stole a quarter-ounce of marijuana and $30 from Cristian Santiago of West Chester, police said. The fourth man was Santiago's friend and arranged the drug deal knowing he would be robbed.

A passing motorist found Santiago's body and called police, who arrived at the 700 block of Hillsdale Road in East Bradford Township around 10:20 p.m. Thursday.

Onray L. Winfield, 19, of West Chester; Darrell T. Woodward, 19, of Coatesville; Gerald D. Myers, 19, of West Chester; and Bryon K. Stevens, 50, of Coatesville have been charged with murder, robbery, and related offenses.

"The victim is dead, leaving behind a grieving family. The defendants are facing murder charges," said Thomas P. Hogan, Chester County's district attorney. "All over a little marijuana and a few dollars."

Winfield, the victim's friend, arranged for him to sell marijuana to another suspect, police said.

The three other defendants arranged to meet the victim at a gas station in West Chester, saying they wanted to buy the drug from him, police said.

After the victim got in a car with the suspects, they drove away, shot him in the chest, and robbed him, police said. They then are accused of dumping his body onto the side of the road.
