Tickets sell out for 1 Dalai Lama event

Tickets sold out quickly for one of the Dalai Lama's public appearances in Philadelphia this fall, but seats are still up for grabs at other events.

Tickets sold out quickly for one of the Dalai Lama's public appearances in Philadelphia this fall, but seats are still up for grabs at other events.

The Dalai Lama will be in Philadelphia in October to receive the Liberty Medal at the National Constitution Center. He'll also teach publicly and take part in a forum while in the city.

Tickets for two of the events went on sale on Wednesday.

One event, a teaching on the Eight Verses for Training the Mind at La Salle University the day of the Oct. 26 medal ceremony, is already sold out.

However, tickets at some price levels remain available for a forum the next day at Temple University's Liacouras Center.

The spiritual leader is set to take part in the 9:30 a.m. event, called "Finding Happiness in Troubled Times: Educating the Heart in the 21st Century."

More information and links to purchase tickets are at http://DalaiLamaPhilly.org.

Ticket information for the Liberty Medal ceremony at the National Constitution Center will be available next month.

The Dalai Lama's appearances in Philadelphia will come just a month after the city hosts another major religious leader: Pope Francis will be in town for September's World Meeting of Families.
