MEDIA Sustainable landscaping for suburban yards will be the topic at a Penn State Brandywine lecture.

Jennifer Nichols, president of GreenWeaver Landscapes, is scheduled to present "Sustainable Landscape Management for Landowners" at 2 p.m. March 8 in the Tomezsko Building auditorium, 25 Yearsley Mill Rd., Media.

The event is hosted by the Chester-Ridley-Crum Watersheds Association and Penn State Brandywine, and is expected to cover how soil and plant management affects water quality, along with best practices for landscape design and maintenance.

"It's about finding the ways each homeowner or land owner can contribute to cleaner streams and a healthier environment," said Brian Byrnes, executive director of the Chester-Ridley-Crum Watersheds Association.

The event is free and open to the public. Advanced registration is recommended. To register, visit www.crcwatersheds.org, call 610-359-1440, or e-mail info@crcwatersheds.org. - Mari A. Schaefer
