Pa. Powerball ticket wins $2M

A ticket sold in Pennsylvania won $2 million in Wednesday's Powerball drawing, as the top prize rolls to $360 million after no one hit the jackpot.

A ticket sold in Pennsylvania won $2 million in Wednesday's Powerball drawing, as the top prize rolls to $360 million after no one hit the jackpot.

The Pennsylvania ticket matched the five white balls - 24, 36, 51, 52 and 56 - but missed the Powerball of 22.

The ticket was purchased with the prize-boosting Power Play option, making it worth $2 million.

The lucky ticket was purchased at S&R Market, located at 4915 Second Ave. in Pittsburgh, the Pennsylvania Lottery said. The retailer will receive a $10,000 bonus for selling the ticket.

The jackpot in Wednesday's drawing was $317 million, the highest top prize in nearly a year. If awarded, it would have been the 11th-largest in Powerball history.

A ticket sold in Delaware won $1 million in Wednesday's drawing by matching the five white balls. Other $1 million-winning tickets were sold in Arizona, Florida, Georgia North Carolina and Tennessee.

The jackpot for Saturday's drawing now jumps to an estimated $360 million for the annuity, or $250 million cash. If won, the annuity prize would be the seventh-largest in Powerball history.

The prize would also be the largest since Feb. 19, 2014, when the jackpot reached $425 million for the annuity. A California man who chose the cash option purchased the winning ticket, worth more than $242 million.

The record Powerball jackpot stands at $590.5 million, won by a Florida ticket in May 2013.
