Montco addiction forum to feature panel discussion

HORSHAM Be a Part of the Conversation's fourth annual Conversation Forum is scheduled for next Wednesday at 6:30 p.m. at the Horsham Township Community Center, 1025 Horsham Rd.

The organization is a drug and alcohol awareness group founded in 2011 with the Hatboro-Horsham School District.

The event will feature a panel that includes a family therapist, young people in recovery, and family members and friends who took steps to intervene when someone they care about was struggling with drugs or alcohol.

"We are hearing from family members and friends that they need guidance when someone they care about is abusing alcohol or drugs," Kim Rubenstein, Be a Part of the Conversation executive director, said in a statement.

Rick Shugart, a family therapist who works with families and others who are impacted by addiction and other challenges, is set to be a speaker. Admission is free, and all are welcome. For more information, e-mail info@conversation.zone. - Inquirer staff
