Montco day care center closed after baby's death

State officials shut down a Montgomery County day care center this week following a baby's death.

The Wyndmoor Montessori School, on Willow Grove Avenue, closed on Wednesday, said Alison Gantz, a spokeswoman for the state department of human services. The recent death of a baby at the day care center is under investigation, Gantz said.

The Wyndmoor Montessori School serves children ages six weeks through 12 years, according to its website, which boasts "a tradition of excellence in education over 40 years." Officials at the school did not respond for comment on Friday.
