25-year plan to be unveiled

BLUE BELL After more than a year of meetings, thousands of resident comments, and extensive planning and revisions, Montgomery County plans to unveil its 25-year comprehensive plan next week in Blue Bell.

The Montco 2040 plan is intended to serve as a road map for the county and its 62 municipalities on issues of development, open space, sustainability, transportation, recreation, housing, infrastructure, and the environment through the year 2040.

The presentation is scheduled for Wednesday at 6 p.m. in the College Hall Community Room at Montgomery County Community College, 340 DeKalb Pike, Blue Bell.

County planners and elected officials are scheduled to present key components of the plan and describe implementation measures to begin in 2015. Discussions and refreshments will follow.
