RADNOR TOWNSHIP Villanova University has signed a cooperation agreement with the United Nations Children's Fund (UNICEF) to work on projects regarding health, education and other social programs in Nicaragua, the school announced.

The initiatives are scheduled to take place in Bluefields, along the Caribbean coast of the Central American country, and will focus on the indigenous population.

Professor Pritpal Singh, chair of the department of electrical and computer engineering, is expected to run the partnership, which is also designed to help provide technical support, software development, and training to build communications systems. The group also expects to help mentor students and faculty at Bluefields Indian and Caribbean University. - Mari A. Schaefer
