Suspect in two Camden slayings arrested

A man suspected of killing two people on the same day in Camden was arrested Wednesday by U.S. Marshals, authorities said.

A man suspected of killing two people on the same day in Camden was arrested Wednesday by U.S. Marshals, authorities said.

Elliot P. Nock, 31, of Camden, was charged with two counts of murder. He was arrested at an apartment in Long Branch, a Shore community in Monmouth County.

The slayings happened Nov. 10. Around 6 p.m. in the city's Gateway neighborhood, police said, Nelson Jackson, 37, was shot and killed in the 800 block of Haddon Avenue. Two hours later in the Morgan Village neighborhood, police said, Daniel Damon, 21, of Camden, was fatally shot in the 700 block of Morgan Boulevard.

Damon's slaying was the sixth in seven days in Camden.

Nock is expected to be arraigned Thursday in Superior Court in Camden, where a judge will set bail.
