Crisfield to take over at Montco's Wissahickon

AMBLER The Wissahickon School District has selected James A. Crisfield, a longtime New Jersey educator, as its new superintendent. On March 1, Crisfield will succeed Judith M. Clark, who is retiring, the district said in a statement on its website. Until then, he will remain in his current post as superintendent of the highly regarded Millburn Township (N.J.) public schools, that district said in a news release.

AMBLER The Wissahickon School District has selected James A. Crisfield, a longtime New Jersey educator, as its new superintendent.

On March 1, Crisfield will succeed Judith M. Clark, who is retiring, the district said in a statement on its website. Until then, he will remain in his current post as superintendent of the highly regarded Millburn Township (N.J.) public schools, that district said in a news release.

Crisfield has earned degrees from Stanford University, Boston College, and Rutgers University. He was a lieutenant in the Air Force's communication command before becoming a social studies teacher. For the last 23 years, he worked as an administrator in Warren and Millburn Townships in New Jersey.

A public reception with Crisfield is scheduled for Wednesday evening, following the school board meeting at which his contract is expected to be approved. The meeting and reception will take place at the district offices, 601 Knight Rd., Ambler. - Jessica Parks
