Lane closures set for Route 202

Drivers will face overnight lane closures on U.S. 202 between the Chesterbrook and Route 401 interchanges in Tredyffrin and East Whiteland Townships for road construction starting Friday, the Pennsylvania Department of Transportation said.

Crews will work at night to finish the newly opened six-lane section of 202 by sealing pavement joints, patching concrete, smoothing pavement, and installing reflective markers.

Weather permitting, lanes will be closed on northbound and southbound 202 from 10 p.m. Friday to 10 a.m. Saturday; 8 p.m. to 5 a.m. Monday through Thursday; and 8 p.m. next Friday to 10 a.m. Nov. 8.

PennDot expanded nearly four miles of 202 to six lanes between the Route 252 (Swedesford Road) and Route 401 interchanges on Sept. 26. The highway was rebuilt and widened through a $105.4 million project that began in April 2011.
