Pirates return to Marcus Hook

MARCUS HOOK Looking for something to do Saturday? Set your sails for Marcus Hook's sixth annual Pirate Festival.

The event will take place from 11 a.m. to 6 p.m. in Market Square Memorial Park off Delaware Avenue. There will be live music, vendors, food, beer-making demonstrations, a petting zoo and pony rides, face painting, games, and, of course, plenty of pirates.

In the early 18th century, Marcus Hook was known as a haven for pirates who sold their stolen goods at local markets. The Plank House, which still stands, is rumored to have been the home of one of Blackbeard's mistresses.
