Baldwin hires middle-school director

BRYN MAWR The Baldwin School has appointed Cindy Lapinski, most recently a principal in the Quakertown School District, as its new middle-school director.

Lapinski, 57, has 16 years of experience in middle- school education. After beginning her career as a second-grade teacher, she moved to eighth grade. She has taught science, computer literacy and language arts, and was assistant principal and then principal at Strayer Middle School in Quakertown.

Among her other duties, Lapinski will oversee the expansion of Baldwin's DREAM Lab, which focuses on design, robotics, engineering, arts and math, from the elementary school into grades six and seven.

Lapinski, who grew up in Sellersville, is married and has three children, including a daughter who is the Global Action Coordinator at Baldwin and another who is a technology teacher in Lower Merion. - Kathy Boccella
