Weekend lacrosse tournament expected to draw big crowds

A boys' lacrosse tournament that is a major boon for Bucks County tourism revenue is scheduled for this weekend.

In its seventh year, the two-day Patriot Games tournament is expected to draw 8,000 people from 11 states, filling more than 20 hotels from Bensalem to Quakertown.

In previous years, the tournament has raised more than $100,000 in hotel revenue and generated more than $1 million in economic impact.

Overall, Bucks County tourism contributes more than $800 million a year to the local economy, more than $100 million in tax revenue, and more than 11,000 jobs. - Ben Finley
