Two dozen set to become U.S. citizens during Flag Day event

YEADON Two dozen Delaware County residents are scheduled to be sworn in as U.S. citizens on Saturday during the annual Flag Day celebration in Yeadon.

The ceremony, starting at 10 a.m. on Longacre Boulevard, is expected to be highlighted by remarks from Michael Sarro, a sergeant in the Yeadon Police Department and a U.S. Marines veteran of the war in Afghanistan.

The festivities are set to begin at 9 a.m. with a parade to begin on Church Lane. A picnic is scheduled from noon to 3 p.m. After that, at the Chapel of the Good Shepherd, a "Taste of Yeadon" will showcase food provided by residents that represents their native countries.
