Part of Chesco's Struble Trail to be closed

Part of Struble Trail to be closed

DOWNINGTOWN A portion of Downingtown's Struble Trail will be closed for nearly two months starting June 16 to allow for the replacement of a gas pipeline, according to Chester County. The trail will be closed from Norwood Road to Mile Marker 1.25.

The trail runs parallel to Route 282. During the closure - which will run until Aug. 15 - the trail will still be accessible from the parking areas at Dorlan Mill Road, Dowlin Forge Park, and Shelmire Road, according to a news release.

The county said the Transcontinental Gas Pipe Line Co. will be replacing a section of steel gas pipeline with a larger diameter pipeline and will be required to restore the area to previous conditions after construction. - Tricia L. Nadolny
